ND State Parade winners honored

Recipients of 12 awards presented for their winning entry in the North Dakota State Parade were honored Tuesday, July 21.
The parade awards are as follows:
- Grand Marshal Award: First Western Bank & Trust, 2024, 2025 and 2026 recipient.
- Flickertail Award: Magic City Dance Company, first time winner.
- Heritage Award: Mema's Meats, 2025 and 2026 recipient.
- North Dakota State Fair Award: North American Coal, 2023, 2024 and 2026 recipient.
- Pioneer Award: Angelic Gardens, first time winner.
- Rough Rider Award: Country Paws, first time winner.
- Chairman's Award: Kevin's Auto Body, first time winner.
- Youth Sweepstakes Award: Minot North Cheer, 2024, 2025 and 2026 recipient.
- Parade Committee Award: Gene-O's Septic Service, 2024 and 2026 recipient.
- Governor's Award: Community Action Partnership-Minot Region, first time winner.
- Dakota Proud Award: West Minot Church of God, 2024, 2025 and 2026 recipient.
- Lewis & Clark Award: American Legion Post 26, first time winner.
Twyla Scott, who is in her fifth year as chairman of the N.D. State Parade Committee, said 69 entries were judged.
All entries in the parade are not judged but only those requesting to be judged. The cost for an entry to be judged is $5. Parade judges this year were Tracey Brotherton, Lakenna Martinez, April Platt, Anik Emery and Kylie Klodt.
Parade winners received plaques during the presentation at First Western Bank & Trust.
The theme of this year's parade was "Honoring 250 Years of Heroes," tying in with the nation's 250th birthday. Western North Dakota Honor Flight was the grand marshal.
