Annual community Festival of Nativities set for Dec. 5-6
The annual Minot Community Festival of Nativities is being held Friday, Dec. 5, and Saturday, Dec. 6, offering two evenings of holiday displays, community music and family activities at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3740 Crossing St. SW. Doors will be open from 6-8 p.m. both nights.
According to Festival of Nativities information, the free event open to all ages has become a seasonal tradition for many families, bringing together Nativity scenes from across the region. Last year’s festival featured more than 190 individual displays contributed by local residents and organizations, ranging from traditional figurines to handcrafted sets from around the world. Organizers expect a similarly wide-ranging collection this year.
Along with the exhibition, the festival features live musical performances by local soloists, choirs and church groups. Performers signed up for 10-minute sets ahead of this year’s event, continuing a tradition of community-driven programming.
Families also will find several hands-on activities, including Nativity-themed children’s crafts, a dress-up area and a Christmas photo backdrop available for personal holiday pictures. Light refreshments will be served.
Organizers describe the festival as a welcoming, inclusive celebration of the Christmas story and a chance for neighbors to gather, share traditions and enjoy a calm start to the holiday season.
