North Dakota State Fair opens its gates today for its 60th year

With the 2025 North Dakota State Fair kicking off today in Minot, visitors can make the most of this milestone celebration.

The fair is marking its 60th anniversary as a state fair this year.

“Reaching 60 years is a big milestone, and it’s a credit to the people who’ve supported this event year after year,” said Craig Rudland, general manager of the North Dakota State Fair. “We’ve built something that brings in families, vendors and visitors from all over, and this year is no different. Whether you’re here for the shows, the food, or the competition, there’s something for everyone.”

What to Know Before You Go:

– Gates Open: Daily at 10 a.m. (varies on gate). Exhibit buildings open at 11 a.m. (varies by location).

– Carnival Midway: Opens at 12 p.m.

– Grandstand Events: Doors open 60-90 minutes before showtime. Plan to arrive early for security and seating.

– Tickets: Purchase online at ndstatefair.com or ETIX kiosks in Minot, Bismarck and Williston.

– Food and Vendors: More than 60 food options across the grounds. Use the on-site Food Finder Map to navigate your cravings.

– Weather and Attire: Dress for summer, stay hydrated and wear comfortable shoes.

– Special Days: Special activities are planned on July 22 (Pepsi Deals, Family Day and Military Appreciation Day), on July 23 ( Co-op Day), on July 25 (811 Day) and July 24 (Senior Day).

– Kiddie Contests and Family Events: Events such as the Diaper Derby, Stick Horse Race and Cupcake Decorating are free and open for registration.

– NDSF After Party: The NDSF After Party will be held each evening from 10 p.m.-midnight on Stage Two. DMI Entertainment of Minot will host the After Party. Dakota Chappy will perform prior to the After Party from 9:30-10 p.m.
