Area July 4th events scheduled across region

The Minot region will offer a variety of July Fourth activities on Friday.
Minot
Minot will host a full slate of Independence Day festivities. The Shriners Parade will kick off the day at 10 a.m., beginning at 25th Street Fourth Avenue Northwest.
The Minot Parks Fourth of July Festival will run from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in Oak Park, featuring live music, food trucks and a variety of family-friendly games and activities.
Sports fans can enjoy the Hot Tots baseball game at Corbett Field, with gates opening at 3:05 p.m. and the first pitch at 4:05 p.m. Standard concession prices will apply.
At 7 p.m., head to the North Dakota State Fairgrounds for stock car racing at Nodak Speedway Admission is free.
Cap off the day with North Dakota’s largest fireworks display, launched from the fairgrounds at 10:45 p.m. Free grandstand seating will open at 10 p.m.
Velva
Velva’s celebration begins at 10 a.m. with a Fourth of July parade down Main Street.
A community lunch will be held at the Velva Senior Center immediately following the parade until 1 p.m.
From 11 a.m.-4 p.m., families can enjoy a petting zoo in Velva Park, with additional activities including a photo booth from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., a dunk tank from noon-4 p.m., a cake walk at 1 p.m., turtle races at the park tennis courts at 2 p.m. and free swimming at the Velva Pool from 1-5 p.m.
Foot races will be held at noon at the Larry Sandy Football Field, and the annual alumni baseball game will take place at 4 p.m. at Buen Field.
Velva’s fireworks show will light up the night sky at 10:45 p.m., also at Buen Field.
Berthold
Berthold’s festivities kick off with a parade at 11 a.m.
Following the parade, there will be kids races, an egg toss, a pie-eating contest and B&B Racers Go-Karts.
Adults can enjoy a Mimosa and Caesar Bar at Sidelines, along with burgers served at the same location.
The afternoon continues with a four-person golf scramble at the Berthold Golf Course. Registration starts at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start at 2 p.m. The cost is $100 per team.
Stanley
Stanley begins the day with the Firecracker 5K hosted by Stanley Parks and Recreation. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Sauber Complex, and the run starts at 8:15 a.m.
At 10:30 a.m., the kiddie parade begins, followed by the main Fourth of July parade at 11 a.m., both traveling down Main Street and passing by Mountrail County Medical Center.
Lunch will be served at several locations around town, including a freewill offering at the Catholic Church until 2 p.m., a $10 lunch in the park by the Women of Today, and a fundraiser lunch served by Jevon Johnson at Flickertail Village.
A car show and shine will also take place at Flickertail Village after the parade.
From 8 p.m.-12 a.m., Mendenhall Crossing will perform live at the Prairie Rose Golf Course.
The Stanley Fire Department will launch fireworks at dusk, just south of the South Complex.
Lake Metigoshe
Tonight, there’s a 7 p.m. Club de Skinautique show at the ski hill located south of the Recreation Service District and Lake Metigoshe Fire Hall.
Fireworks are scheduled for about 10:30 p.m. tonight, launched from Masonic Island.
On July 4, the community will host a children’s parade at 10 a.m. Lineup is at the Lake Metigoshe Fire Department building. No registration is required, and all are welcome to participate.
This year’s parade theme honors Lake Metigoshe State Park. The parade route runs to the bridge and back to the fire station, where participants will enjoy ice cream treats, party favors and a chance to visit with local firefighters and explore fire trucks
