Children’s choir to perform Disney musical
The Western Plains Children’s Choir, composed of more than 60 singers in grades 4-8, will be performing the Disney musical, “The Descendants,” in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall at Minot State University.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 12; 7 p.m. on Friday, June 13; and 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 14.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/children.
“Students have been working on this since the last full week of May,” said Claire Romich, music director. “We have been rehearsing five days a week in order to prepare for the full performance.”
The musical’s story can be summed up as such: “Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island… until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make. Should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?”
