Various Minot partners have joined up in creating a selection of family-fun activities to celebrate this upcoming Independence Day.

Kickstarting the celebrations will be the “2nd Annual 4th of July Parade” hosted by the Minot Fireworks Association, Minot Masonic Center, Minot Park District, and Minot Shrine Club. The parade begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of 25th Street Northwest and Fourth Avenue Northwest and will march directly in front of Oak Park before ending at the corner of Third Avenue Northwest and Sixth Street Northwest.

Oak Park itself will be hosting its own “Fourth of July Festival” activities. From 11 a.m.-noon the variety show band, Badlands Express, will be performing a patriotic medley at the Oak Park Amphitheater. Then from noon-3 p.m. the classic rock jam band, Tin Star, will take the stage. There will also be food vendors, bouncy castles for kids, and additional yard games and family-friendly activities going from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The Oak Park Splash Pad is also free to visitors from 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

The “4th of July at the Ballpark” celebration will have the Hot Tots playing against the Willmar Stingers at 4:05 p.m. at Corbett Field. The Corbett Field gates open at 3:05 p.m.

Minot dirt track races will begin at 7 p.m. at the Nodak Speedway. Race car classes will include wingless sprints, hobby stocks, sport compacts, slingshots, and sport mods.

The evening will end with the largest choreographed fireworks show in North Dakota. The fireworks, staged by Mum Pyrotechnics, will shoot off from the fairgrounds at around 10:45 p.m. and are free for the public to attend.

Starting at $2.99/week.
