Minot Parks and Recs keep kids busy

There are seven leagues, 43 teams and at least 390 kids that busy themselves with baseball and softball recreational activities. Each team has at least one coach, not to mention the staff needed to prepare and officiate the games. The Minot Parks and Recreation department and the summer leagues are prime examples of ‘it takes a village’ to raise the youth of our area.

The summer activities are dependent on the weather, rides, availability of equipment and practice time.

All those needs and costs are worth it when you see the fun that the youth are having. For the leagues and teams, updates are listed below.

Sluggers T-Ball Division

There are six teams in the division. The teams play on Mondays and Wednesdays each week through the end of July.

Stars T-Ball Division

The Stars T-Ball has seven teams and plays Tuesdays and Thursdays through the first of August.

Half Pint Softball (2-4 Grade Girls) Division

With seven teams, the Half Pint Softball division plays on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the first week of August.

Home Run Pee Wee (2-4 Grade Boys) Division

The Home Run Pee Wee division has six teams and plays on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the first week of August.

Grand Slam Pee Wee (2-4 Grade Boys) Division

With six teams, the Grand Slam Division plays Tuesdays and Thursdays through the first of August.

American / Jr. High (5-8 Grade Girls) Division

The American / Jr. High Division has three teams and plays on Mondays and Wednesdays through the end of July.

Midget / Pony (5-8 Grade Boys) Division

With eight teams, the Midget / Pony Division has the most teams competing within the Minot Parks and Recreation system. The teams play on Mondays and Wednesdays through the end of July.
