Fort Union Rendezvous begins this week
WILLISTON – The Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site is set to come alive with the sights, sounds, and excitement of the American Frontier during the annual Rendezvous from Thursday through Sunday.
Admission and parking are free.
This living history event has become a staple for history enthusiasts, families and adventurers, offering a unique educational and entertaining experience. Visitors can discover the craftsmanship of the past as artisans demonstrate traditional skills such as pottery, blacksmithing, spinning and weaving, and frontier cooking.
The General William Ashley, an authentically reconstructed keelboat, will be on display during this year’s Rendezvous. Keelboats were the primary means of transporting trade goods along the Missouri River in the early days of the fort.
