Minot State students place at national singing competition
Minot State University hosted this year’s National Association of Teachers of Singing voice competition April 5-6.
Nearly 50 students from NDSU, UND, Black Hills State University in South Dakota and MSU competed in voice competitions, culminating in a finalist concert featuring MSU students Kaitlyn Pellenwessel, Megan Kramer, Evan Putt and Kylee Cook.
MSU students received the following awards in their categories:
– Jeremiah Akande, first place, student of Emerson Eads, pianist Briana Schwan.
– Kaitlyn Pellenwessel, second place, student of Emerson Eads, pianist Jacob Kirsch.
– Megan Kramer, first place, student of DeVera Bowles, pianist Lori Wonnenberg.
– Evan Putt, first place, student of Ken Bowles, pianist Lori Wonnenberg.
– Shad Huber, second place, student of Emerson Eads, pianist Briana Schwan.
– Kylee Cook, first place, student of DeVera Bowles, pianist Kevin Vandal.
