Minot arts council announces new top leadership

The Minot Area Council of the Arts (MACA) has announced the appointment of Tonia Vitko and Myles Barcomb as the organization’s executive co-directors, effective immediately.

Vitko has extensive experience in fundraising, board operations, event planning, and community collaboration. She is currently serving on the board of directors for the Minot Symphony Orchestra, International Artist Series of Minot, Independence Inc, Minot Firework Association and Norsk Hostfest.

Barcomb brings managerial and technical expertise with more than 20 years of professional experience in the Minot arts community.

“Their deep-rooted connection to the arts in our community, coupled with their extensive experience and innovative vision, make them the ideal leaders to guide MACA forward. We are excited to embark on this journey with them and see the positive impact they will undoubtedly make,” Kelly Matalka, MACA board president, said.

Vitko and Barcomb issued a statement saying, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to lead, advocate for and grow with the mission of the Minot Council of the Arts. Our shared vision is to continue enriching Minot’s vibrant arts scene, fostering community connections and expanding opportunities for artists and art enthusiasts alike.”

In their first undertaking, Vitko and Barcomb will spearhead the planning and coordination of this summer’s Arts in the City events.
