Art contest aims to inspire future farmers
The North Dakota Farm Bureau has announced it will hold an agriculture-inspired art contest for fourth- and fifth-graders in honor of NDFB Week.
During the week of March 10-16, students are encouraged to visualize themselves as farmers. They can use whichever media they choose to create portraits of themselves, perhaps in a farmer’s attire or surrounded by crops or animals. This year’s theme is “Cultivate Your Future: Nurturing Growth, Sowing Innovation,” which was inspired by the new Student Membership category.
The contest will be judged based on two criteria: creativity and originality of the theme, and quality of artistic composition and overall design.
The deadline for students to submit is March 8.
A winner from each grade will be selected and given a $50 prize. The winning art also will be featured in the NDFB newsletter.
