‘Goosebumps’ story comes to Minot theater stage this fall

An experienced cast of veteran volunteers, along with new faces, will be performing in the Mouse River Players Community Theatre's production of R.L. Stine's "Goosebumps: The Phantom of the Auditorium" this fall.

The show will entertain all ages, appealing to youngsters just beginning to explore the books to well-versed regulars who will recognize the storyline and young adults who grew up with "Goosebumps." Even mature theatergoers who never had the opportunity to be fans of fiction can enjoy the humor and music of the production.

Featured in principal parts are veterans Connor Donovan, Triniti Gregg and Dorian Garland and new Mouse River Player Nicole Swain.

MRP veterans Brittany and Edward Montez. Abby Speer, Claire Keeley, Devyn Bechel and Jenae McQueen round out the ensemble of drama club members.

Longtime MRP volunteer and first-time director Courtney DuPona is working with the actors and technical crew.

R. L. Stine's "Goosebumps, The Phantom of the Auditorium" will be the first offering of the 2023-2024 season, which is the 52nd season for MRP. Performances will be held Sept. 22-24 and Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at the downtown theater. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of Sundays, Sept. 24 and Oct. 1, when shows begin at 2 p.m.

Prices are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, students and military with ID, and $10 for children ages 3-12.

Tickets may be purchased or reserved through the Mouse River Players website at mouseriverplayers.com or at the box office at the time of the performance.

Upcoming performances this season include the classic musical "Once Upon a Mattress," comic thriller "The House of Agatha Mystrie," "Miracle on 34th Street" and "Puffs" (Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic).
