Michigan pair charged in fentanyl case

Charles Edward Bevier-Dukes, 31, Hamtramck, Michigan, and Tabethia Simone Hunt, 20, of Lansing, Michigan, are each charged in district court in Ward County with Class A felony possession with intent to deliver more than 40 grams of fentanyl on Tuesday.

According to court documents, the Ward County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on Tuesday at 1720 13th Street SE, Apt. 203, in Minot and a search turned up 1,500 counterfeit fentanyl pills with a street value of about $60,000 and $24,806 in cash.

Both made initial appearances on the charges on Wednesday before Judge Doug Mattson. Prosecutor Christopher Nelson told the judge that Bevier-Dukes has an extensive criminal history in Michigan, including some violent offenses, dating back to 2007 and Hunt has no criminal history. Mattson set bond at $175,000 cash or corporate surety for Bevier-Dukes and at $50,000 cash or corporate surety for Hunt. A preliminary hearing for both is scheduled for July 14 before Mattson.

Starting at $2.99/week.
