Making music in the Magic City

Charles Crane/MDN Luke Farroh is an audio engineer, providing full-service music recording, mixing and mastering at Voxogos Recording Studio in Minot.

Amateurism in the realms of video and music production has never been easier with the technology available today. But for those in flyover country, it can be difficult to find professional resources and expertise.

Minot resident Luke Farroh decided to fill that gap in his hometown when he started his own music production studio right here in the Magic Cty, which he calls Voxogos.

The Minot native initially studied film at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida, switching to audio recording and engineering as he finished his degree. After spending time working on documentaries and sound design, he found himself gravitating toward music production.

Farroh returned to Minot five years ago, starting a creative agency called ThruFriday before the allure of music came calling to him. Operating out of a studio office in his home in Minot, Voxogos offers a full-service experience through the whole process of music recording, mixing and mastering, providing an accessible entry point for anyone looking for the means to realize their musical and artistic goals.

“I think it’s a more welcoming environment. People can come into my home, we close the door, set up the mic, and start recording.” Farroh said, “I’m very patient and lenient about what we can do here. As long as I simplify the recording process because it’s very technical with a lot of stuff involved. If I do that right and just focus on that it will amplify what the client and customer and artists want to do.”

Whether you’re looking to lay down a track for a demo, record an audiobook, podcast or even a full album, Farroh’s goal is to help his clients achieve their dreams.

“It’s really all about them.” said Farroh, “I just want to amplify that.”
