Students can enter Wreaths Across America essay contest

Wreaths Across America is developing an annual essay contest for all students grades 9 – 12.

Any student interested in participating will need to send a letter to Wreaths Across America, 1738 35th Ave. SE, Minot, ND 58701 and an application with instructions for participating will be sent to the student.

Wreaths Across America’s mission annually has been to remember the fallen, honor those who serve and teach children the value of freedom.

Minot Civil Air Patrol has tried to uphold that mission for Wreaths Across America every year, but members feel that the last part of the mission has not been truly fulfilled with the youth. That is why they are asking this year for students to help make this part of the mission complete. The essay contest is open to any student who attends high school within the Ward County area, according to Minot Civil Air Patrol.

One essay will be chosen and the winner will receive $100 in cash on Dec. 19 after sharing his or her essay during the Wreaths Across America ceremony.

Applications and essay are due no later than Nov. 11. The student with the winning essay will be contacted.
