Large number of students attend Northwest Festival of Music
Nearly 700 students took part in the 41st Annual Northwest Festival of Music held at Minot State University on Friday and Saturday, according to Emerson Eads, director of Choral Activities and assistant professor of music at MSU.
More than 100 music educators from schools across North Dakota and eastern Montana encouraged their students to take part in the music festival. Students auditioned to be selected for the music festival.
“It was a record number of applicants – over a thousand,” said Eads.
The event concluded with the MSU Showcase Concert on Friday and the final band and choral concerts on Saturday in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall on the MSU campus.
