Eddie Money is ready to rock

Eddie Money to perform tomorrow at 4 Bears Casino

Rock ‘n’ roll performer Eddie Money has many different descriptions. He is a singer, a songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist. He has performed worldwide and has been performing for just over 50 years. Now he is coming to North Dakota.

4 Bears Casino & Lodge will play host to Eddie Money tomorrow night with a performance taking place at 8 p.m. The performer is excited to come to the state, loving to meet fans from all around and to give a good show.

Eddie Money started his career as a singer in 1968. Music had been a part of his life for sometime after he performed first in an acapella group and then a rock band in high school. He didn’t originally plan to follow music and make it a career and instead followed his dad and became a cop for a couple of years.

“I didn’t want to be a cop though,” Money explained. “So I decided to try with music again.”

He met well-known promoter Bill Graham while performing at one of his events. Graham quickly became a mentor and manager to Money and Money’s career took off.

“I got lucky and made a career out of it. It happened so quickly and has been a lot of fun.”

Money explained that his biggest motivations were just growing up listening to different music from the ’50s and joining the rock band in high school, saying that it made him realize that he loved singing it.

Over the years from childhood and through his career, he has learned to play different instruments such as saxophone, piano, keyboards, and others to add to his performances and line-up of talent.

Now after 50 years, Money has experienced a long career filled with performing and experiences. He has travelled all around the world to Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Europe, and more. His long career has created a fan base that has followed him for years and has many memories of different times that come up when his music plays, something he loves to hear about.

“I love when people really recognize the material. People say it really brings them to a different time, making the music something really reminiscent to them,” Money explained.

Money’s stop at 4 Bears will be one of his many stops on his current tour. One thing special about his performances these days, and will take place at 4 Bears, is that his children will perform alongside him.

“God’s been good to me and has given me a good career,” Money said. “Now I’m playing with my kids as they start their careers.”

He says the atmosphere is fun and having them on stage with him adds a special touch to each performance.

Tickets for the concert are $25 and can be purchased at the 4 Bears Players Club, online at 4bearscasino.com, or by calling 627-7575.

Money expects the show to be good and wants people to “come down and do some shaking with the Money.”
