Nedrose School Board Minutes

November 18, 2020

5:30 P.M.

The Nedrose School Board Meeting

was called to order by board

president Jim Vannett. Members

present were Jim Vannett, Chris

Sutton and Bob Kraus. Members

present via zoom call were Holly

Brekhus and Todd Awalt. Also

present were Matt Norby, Adminis-

trator, Chelsey Raymond, High

School Principal, Alex Schmaltz,

Elementary Principal, and Connie

Marcellais, Bs. Mgr.

Motion made by Jim Vannett and

seconded by Chris Sutton to ap-

prove the agenda. Motion carried

unanimously.

The Nedrose School Board recog-

nized the following organizations

and persons with the Cardinal Ku-

dos Certificate Award:

Brock Zietz for the excellent work on

keeping Nedrose patrons updated

on the changes happening with

sporting events and regulations.

Your dedication is very much appre-

ciated!

There are no new nominations for

the Cardinal Kudos Award at this

time.

Motion made by Robert Kraus and

seconded by Todd Awalt to approve

the minutes of the October 21, 2020

meeting. Motion carried unanimous-

ly.

Motion made by Jim Vannett and

seconded by Robert Kraus to ap-

prove the financials as listed; Check-

book, $2,225,680.13; MM Savings,

$1,230,640.19. Motion carried unan-

imously.

Motion made by Jim Vannett and

seconded by Chris Sutton to ap-

prove the bills in the amount of

$138,253.15 paid using ck. no’s.

56298-56397, 56398-56447. Motion

carried unanimously.

Administrative reports were re-

viewed.

Motion made by Holly Brekhus and

seconded by Jim Vannett to approve

a staff Christmas expense of

$7,600.00. Motion carried unani-

mously.

Motion made by Bob Kraus and

seconded by Holly Brekhus to ap-

prove the 21st and 22nd of De-

cember as non-contact days. Mo-

tion carried unanimously.

Motion made by Holly Brekhus and

seconded by Chris Sutton to com-

plete the second reading of policies

AAC-Nondiscrimination and Anti-

Harassment and ACBB- Significant

Contagious Diseases as written.

Motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Norby gave an update on tuition

waivers.

The Board reviewed the

superintendent’s evaluation with the

superintendent. There being no

further questions the evaluation was

signed and will be filed.

Jim Vannett made, and Robert

Kraus seconded a motion to ap-

prove the planned budget for the

Resiliency and ESSER Funding.

Motion carried unanimously.

Motion made by Robert Kraus and

seconded by Chris Sutton to ap-

prove the buy down to 2% interest

rate on the School Building Bond

Series 2015. On roll call vote, all

yes. Motion carried unanimously.

Next scheduled board meeting will

be December 16, 2020 at 5:30 p.m.
