Corps waives fees over holiday

OMAHA, Neb. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced it is waiving day-use fees July 3-5 at its more than 2,800 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in support of America’s 250th anniversary celebration. The waiver applies to boat launch ramps and swimming beaches at USACE-operated recreation areas. Camping fees, camping-related services, group picnic shelters and other specialized facilities are not included in the fee waiver. Minot city offices closed July 3

City of Minot offices will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. The Minot Public Library will be closed and there will be no public transit on July 3. For water service emergencies, residents should call 857-1500. There will be no residential garbage collection on July 3, but there will be a makeup collection for Tuesday/Friday customers on Wednesday, July 1. Music camp continues concert performances

DUNSEITH – Session 4 at the International Music Camp culminates on Saturday, July 11, with a performance or display from each of the 12 camp programs offered during the week. Fire emergency order in place for grasslands

BISMARCK – The Dakota Prairie Grasslands (DPG) issued an updated Emergency Fire Closure Order for National Forest System lands in Billings, Golden Valley, McKenzie and Slope counties within the Little Missouri National Grassland. The update reflects expected fuel conditions as the summer season progresses. The previous fire closure order has been rescinded. The new order goes into effect immediately and will remain in place through Dec. 31 unless rescinded earlier.
