BAND names executive director

MANDAN — Carissa Swenson has been hired as the new executive director of the Broadband Association of North Dakota. Swenson, who had previously worked as a consultant and broadband training specialist for Consortia Consulting, has replaced David Crothers, who recently passed away, as executive director. The organization represents the interests of the rural broadband and telecommunications carriers of North Dakota.

Inflation sinks on lower fuel, clothing costs Both the monthly consumer and producer (PPI) inflation gauges rose less than expected this week. The consumer (CPI) index rose only 8.5%, compared to a 9.1% rise in June. The rise in energy components declined along with clothing, foods and new vehicles.
