Williston man killed in crash
WILLISTON – A 37-year-old Williston man was killed early Sunday when he ran a red light and struck the passenger side trailer tires of an oncoming tractor-trailer, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Jason R. Morgan was taken to an area hospital and died of his injuries.
According to a press release from the Highway Patrol, Morgan was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander van north on U.S. Highway 2, leaving Williston, at 1:32 a.m. on Sunday.
Heath Weber, 43, of Lawton, was driving a 2003 Peterbilt north on U.S. Highway 2 from the Highway 85 bypass. Morgan failed to stop at the red light and struck the trailer with the front end. The Uplander spun into the east ditch and came to rest facing west. The truck pulled to the right shoulder and stopped.
Weber was not injured.
