One teen killed, one teen injured in two-vehicle crash near Tioga on Saturday

TIOGA – A 15-year-old Williston girl was killed and a 16-year-old Williston boy was injured in a two-vehicle accident 15 miles south of Tioga on Saturday.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Alexis Meduna, who was a passenger in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler driven by Hayden Williams, 16, of Williston, was killed. Williams was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle, Samuel Hamilton, 27, of Helena, Mont., was not injured.
Hamilton was driving a 2011 GMC Sierra south on Williams County Road 21, approaching the intersection with N.D. Highway 1804. Williams was driving the Jeep west on Highway 1804. According to the Highway Patrol, Hamilton failed to stop at the intersection with Highway1804, and struck the passenger side of Williams’ Jeep with the front end. Williams’ vehicle spun into the southwest ditch and came to rest facing northeast. Hamilton’s vehicle overturned in the south ditch and came to rest on the driver’s side facing northwest. Hamilton’s vehicle came to a stop resting up against a support wire coming of a utility pole.
The occupants of the Jeep had to be extricated from the vehicle by rescue personel.
The crash occurred at 11:41 p.m. on Saturday.
Charges are pending against Hamilton.
