Minot North senior Kasen Rostad added another award to his collection when he was named North Dakota’s Mr. Golf on Sunday.

The award was presented to Rostad at the Dakota Junior Golf Association Russ Newman Junior tournament in Fargo.

Rostad ended his senior year on June 4 during the Class A Boys State Golf Tournament where the Minot North Sentinels took home first place. He also tied for third place individually and the 2025 NDHSCA Class A Boys Golf Co-Senior Athlete of the Year.

“This award to me is very special,” said Rostad of the North Dakota’s Mr. Golf award. “It showcases all of the hard work and dedication I have put in over the last few years.”

Rostad expressed the sadness he feels as he ends his high school career. He has played golf at the high school level since he was in eighth grade, and played at lower levels long before that.

“I will forever be grateful for my coaches and the guys I got to play alongside,” said Rostad. “I am very humbled and appreciative that I was selected to receive this award.”

Rostad was one of four finalists nominated for this award. The other finalists were Edgeley-Kulm’s Joseph Kramlich, Bismarck St. Mary’s Ryker Landers and Fargo Davies’ Porter Seidel, who was also awarded the 2025 NDHSCA Class A Boys Golf Co-Senior Athlete of the Year award.

The winner of the North Dakota Ms. Golf award was Sophie Brakke of Grand Forks Red River. Rostad will begin his college golf career at Minot State University starting next season.

Starting at $2.99/week.
