MAPLETON – Laila Christianson shot an 8-over-par 80 on the second day of the NDHSAA Class B Girls Golf State Championship. Paired with her first round 79, the Des Lacs-Burlington freshman finished with a 15-over par 159, good enough to tie for fourth-place with Trista Bilden of Hatton Northwood.

Meadow Roberts, as senior at Nedrose, finished in eighth place after rounds of 80 and 81 for a combined score of 17-over par 161.

Kindred’s Avery Bartels used three birdies and an eagle in her second round to cruise to individual medalist honors at the tournament. Bartels shot a 69 on Tuesday and when combined with her 2-under-par 70 in the first round, she finished an impressive 5-under-par over the two-day event.

Oak Grove and Kindred both shot team scores of 673 to finish tied atop the leaderboard. Heart River finished third with a 690. Bottineau was the top local finisher, shooting a 725 for fourth place.

Nedrose (779) finished in a tie for eighth place, while Des Lacs-Burlington (783) finished 11th overall. Velva (788) and Kenmare (817) finished 12th and 13th respectively. Stanley placed 15th with a team score of 851.
