Twins’ youth clinics to be held in ND

Play Ball! Minnesota, is a Twins’ youth clinic with its roots dating back to 1961. Founded by a Twins scout in Angelo Giuliani, the goal of the clinic is to help grow the sports of baseball and softball by promoting them throughout the upper Midwest area.

Children of ages 6-12 can attend the clinics free of charge, where they will learn a variety of fundamentals in baseball and softball including hitting, throwing, and fielding. In addition to learning different fundamentals, the goal is to make sure the participants have fun and find joy in the sports.

In addition to the clinics being free for participants, it’s free for any of the communities that want to host a clinic. North Dakota will be busy hosting, with three upcoming clinics scheduled.

Powers Lake will be home of the next clinic, which is set to take place today. The clinic will be located at Powers Lake School Fields, hosted by Powers Lake Summer Recreation, and will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

After Powers Lake, Play Ball! Minnesota will make its way to Fargo the following day on Sunday, July 17. Fargo Youth Baseball is the host for this clinic, and it will take place at Fargo Youth Baseball – The ATTIC, running from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Capping off the clinics for North Dakota will be Grand Forks, with their clinic set to take place on Aug. 6. Hosted by the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Department, this clinic will be broken down into two sessions. Session one will run from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and session two will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. These will take place at Appollo Baseball Complex.

For those looking to attend one of the clinics, registration can be completed online through the Twins website. They ask that all attendees bring their own gloves, and they will provide the rest of the equipment.
