Twelve West Region baseball players named to Class A All-State Team

The dust has finally settled on the 2022 Class A boys’ baseball season, culminating in a rematch of last year’s state championship game between defending champion West Fargo Sheyenne and Fargo Shanley. In dramatic fashion, West Fargo Sheyenne would ultimately best Fargo Shanley 3-1 to cement their place in North Dakota sports history with back-to-back state baseball titles.

As is done every year, the conclusion of the season saw the North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA) make their selections for the 2022 Class A Baseball All-State Team.

All in all, eight teams from the West Region were represented by at least one player from their roster, with Dickinson racking up some especially notable accolades.

Pete Dobitz was named the NDHSCA SUBWAY Coach of the Year for his outstanding leadership at Dickinson, in addition to Dickinson senior third baseman Troy Berg winning the NDHSCA POWERade Outstanding Senior Athlete honor.

Twelve players total from the Class A-West Region would be recognized as the best in North Dakota boys’ baseball, with Mandan High leading the way with three representatives. Bismarck Legacy and Dickinson would account for two players each on the All-State roster, with Williston, Bismarck High, Jamestown, Bismarck St. Mary’s, and Bismarck Century all represented by one player from their teams.

The NDHSCA Class A All-State Team members from the West Region include: senior Troy Berg (Dickinson), senior Isaac Daley (Dickinson), senior Avery Bogner (Mandan), senior Lucas Burgum (Mandan), senior Isaac Huettl (Mandan), senior Isaac Pegors (Bismarck Legacy), sophomore Lucas Vasey (Bismarck Legacy), junior Kadin Finders (Williston), senior Caden Fischer (Bismarck High), senior Connor Hoyt (Jamestown), junior Tommy Kraljic (Bismarck St. Mary’s), and senior Carson Motschenbacher (Bismarck Century).

Congratulations to each player on being recognized by the coaches of the NDHSCA on their impressive 2022 Class A boys’ baseball season.
