Minot State’s Jordan Will and Megan Norris score honors

Recently recognized for their outstanding academic achievements, Minot State athletes Jordan Will and Megan Norris have consistently proven that they can hit the books as hard as they hit their opponents.

Twice in wrestling and once in football, two-sport standout and recent graduate Jordan Will finished his time at MSU as a three-time College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American.

To earn CoSIDA Academic All-American honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA while serving as a starter or impact reserve for their team. Nominees are then voted on twice by CoSIDA, once on a district level, then again at the national level if they are a first-team selection.

On the wrestling mat, Will was a heavyweight qualifier at the 2019 NCAA National Tournament, racking up a 54-19 career record at MSU.

Completing degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Management, the Bishop Ryan alumnus is one of just two ever Minot State student-athletes to earn the William Britton Scholar-Athlete for Academic Excellence Award from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Furthermore, he was named the NSIC Elite 18 Award winner in football in 2020, along with being inducted into the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society in April.

For Minot State forward Megan Norris, she has seemingly finished off as many goals in the classroom as she has on the ice.

Playing in 35 games last season, the junior Exercise Science and Rehabilitation major from Innisfil, Ontario lead the Beavers with 16 goals and 17 assists. Additionally, Norris was named to the American College Hockey Association (ACHA) Division I National Tournament All-Tournament Team.

Joining four of her teammates, Norris was named an ACHA Academic All-American, an honor earned by junior or senior student-athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
