Nedrose beats C. McLean at home 3-0
Coming off a 3-1 road win over Rugby on Tuesday, the Nedrose Cardinals defended their home court on Thursday night by taking care of business against the Central McLean Cougars in straight sets 25-12, 25-12, 25-12.
As the final score would indicate, Nedrose controlled the game throughout in a dominant all-around effort. Senior middle hitter Sophia Svystunova led the Cardinals offensively with 10 kills. Meanwhile, sophomore outside hitter Kaydee Boyce also contributed with strong play at the net, totaling nine kills of her own.
Freshman setter Kenna Huff also played a key role in the win with 21 assists. Additionally, the Cardinals win featured strong service games from Mariana Quezada and Kaylie Gruber, who recorded six and five aces respectively.
Up next, Nedrose plans to host Westhope/Newburg on Sept. 23 at 7 p.m.

Also on Thursday evening, the Bishop Ryan Lions topped Surrey in three sets, 25-14, 25-15, 25-22. Ray was a 3-1 winner on the road over Powers Lake 26-24, 25-15, 20-25, 25-16. Meanwhile, Velva beat Stanley in five sets, 25-14, 14-25, 20-25, 25-12, 15-5.
