Minot takes fifth at Williston Invite

On Tuesday, the Minot Majettes girls golf team took to the Links of North Dakota for competition at the Williston Invite. There, the Majettes came away with a fifth-place showing, netting a team score of 386.

Minot placed behind overall event winner Bismarck Century (362), followed by Mandan (370), Legacy (371), and Bismarck (380).

Individually, Avery Falcon led the Magi, shooting 91 on the day. She was followed by Cali Wilson (93), Addison Sorenson (94), and Morgan and Mackenzie Strange recorded identical scores of 96 as well. After the meet, MHS head coach Scott Foltz spoke of the blustery conditions on the course east of Williston.

“We battled windy conditions on a long course. The greens were probably the fastest we’ve seen all season,” Foltz tells The Minot Daily News.

Next up on the schedule, Minot plans to compete in the West Regional Tournament at the Riverwood Golf Course in Bismarck. That meet is slated for Monday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m.
