Knights win 3-0 at home over Surrey

Robert Brewer/MDN Senior middle hitter Calli Weekley (13) of Our Redeemer’s goes up for this successful kill attempt during the Knights 3-0 victory over Surrey on Tuesday night.

Our Redeemer’s Christian School earned its latest win on Tuesday evening as they defeated the visiting Surrey Mustangs in three sets, 25-10, 25-9, 25-8.

Our Redeemer’s was far too strong for Surrey’s defense to deal with throughout the night. Senior setter Eden Olson had no problem initiating the Knights’ explosive offensive as she racked up game-highs in aces (4) and assists (36). Olson’s passing skills set things up for other playmakers such as senior outside hitter Cheyenne Lang, who tallied a game best 14 kills. Calli Weekly and Sydney Popinga also made an impact offensively with eight and seven kills respectively.

Meanwhile, sophomore outside hitter Maya Vibeto enjoyed a good all-around game, chipping in with a team-high 14 digs to go along with a pair of aces for the Knights.

Up next for Our Redeemer’s, they plan to make a short road trip for their next match against rival Bishop Ryan on Thursday night. Start time for that game is set for 7 p.m.
