Tauros forward Kyler Kleven named NAHL Rookie of the Year

A strong first season in a Minotauros uniform paved the path for Kyler Kleven to win NAHL Rookie of the Year honors on Tuesday.

In 48 games, the forward tallied a team-high 53 points. Kleven recorded 25 goals and tied Andranik Armstrong-Kingkade for the team lead in that category.

Kleven posted 1.10 points per game average. That statistic cements his campaign as the best offensive season in franchise history.

In a statement, Minotauros head coach Marty Murray said the following: “This caps off a terrific rookie season for (Kleven). It was fun watching him grow and become an impact player every night.”

The Moorhead, Minn. native finished two points behind Miroslav Mucha for the franchise’s season-high points mark. Additionally, Kleven joined Blake Lizotte (2014-15) as the Minotauros’ only NAHL Rookie of the Year honorees.
