Chauncy Hendershot named Minot High football head coach

On Friday morning, Minot High School activities director Mitch Lunde announced the hiring of Chauncy Hendershot as its new varsity football head coach. Hendershot takes over for Barry Holmen, who resigned in February after 35 years of service on Minot High’s football staff.

“It’s an awesome responsibility,” Hendershot said. “I am very humbled to get the offer. It’s a great group of kids and a great staff. I am ready to get to work.”

Hendershot is a Minot State graduate and has been a part of the Minot High football staff for the past eight seasons. He was born and raised in Minot and also teaches at Minot High’s Magic City Campus.

“Minot is a very gritty, determined city,” Hendershot said. “I’m excited to get going when we are given permission to do so.”

Additionally, Hendershot is the co-head coach of the Minot High varsity track and field team.
