Minotauros goaltender Ben Garrity signs with Wisconsin

Another Minot Minotauros hockey player will join the NCAA Division I ranks. Goaltender Ben Garrity signed his National Letter of Intent to play at Wisconsin on Wednesday.

Garrity hails from Rosemount, Minn., and is playing in his second season with the Minotauros. Garrity, who will forego his final year of eligibility with Minot, holds a 32-18-6 career record between the pipes.

In the 2018-19 season, the 20-year-old goalie appeared in 28 games and posted a 2.52 goals against average.

This year, Garrity has recorded a 2.96 goals against average in his 32 games. He also boasts a .917 save percentage.

In his Twitter post on Wednesday afternoon, Garrity wrote: “Honored and beyond excited to sign my NLI with Wisconsin Badgers for next year! Thank you to the Badger coaching staff for this tremendous opportunity and for believing in me. Also, thank you to the Tauros organization, couldn’t have done it without you. Go Badgers!”

The Badgers are currently 10-15-1 (5-12-1-1 Big Ten).
