MSU MBB drops tight 71-68 decision to Concordia-St. Paul
ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minot State men’s basketball team dropped another tough-luck contest on Saturday evening.
MSU (6-8, 0-8 NSIC) fell victim to Concordia-St. Paul’s (5-7, 3-5 NSIC) second-half comeback. The Beavers led 32-26 at half, but the Golden Bears slowly chipped away before capturing the 71-68 victory.
Junior guard Max Cody led the Beavers with 24 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field. MSU senior guard Kyle Beisch contributed 19 points.
Concordia-St. Paul boasted two scorers with over 20 points. Jordan Coblin scored a game-high 26, while Lee Higgins added 21.
The Golden Bears shot 38% from the 3-point arc, while the Beavers finished with a final total of 28%. Concordia-St. Paul held a 38-31 rebounding edge.
The contest featured a total of 18 lead changes.
The Beavers will welcome St. Cloud State (8-6, 5-3 NSIC) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the MSU Dome.
