MSU volleyball falls to Wayne State on senior night
The Wayne State (Neb.) Wildcats arrived at the MSU Dome set on spoiling Minot State’s senior night.
The No. 13-ranked Wildcats (21-5, 12-5 NSIC) swept the Beavers (3-23, 2-15 NSIC) by set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 25-14 in Friday evening’s contest.
Wayne State continued to find answers to Minot State’s attacks. The Wildcats also held a 43-27 kill advantage in the match.
Senior outside hitter Shelby Spuller led the Beavers with a team-high 13 kills. Junior setter Mackenzie Froehlich paced the offense with a team-high 23 assists.
MSU junior libero Karli Koza recorded a match-high 23 digs, while senior outside hitter Shae Pedersen added 10 digs.
Seven seniors were recognized on senior night: Spuller, Pedersen, Emily Falldorf, Hayley Swain, Jeanne Brenner, Nicole Wondrasek and Karli Pickard.
The Beavers will host Augustana (18-8, 11-6 NSIC) at 2 p.m. this afternoon. It will mark MSU’s final home contest of the season.
