MSU cross country finishes out 2019 season

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Minot State cross country teams ended their seasons in great stride in Joplin, Missouri. Both men’s and women’s teams had strong showings at the NCAA Central Region Championship despite not moving on to nationals.

The women ended their season with a seventh place. Freshman Whitney Hanson led the pack placing 1st for the team and 35th in the overall event with a time 22:36.98. Hanson set a program record with her time. Finishing two places behind her was senior Ashley Franco, who finished 37th with a time of 22:41.91.

The men placed 23rd in the meet, with freshman Jacob Jensen leading the way, placing 68th with a time of 32:41.63. Freshman Landon Dunlap finished second for the team, placing 87th overall with a time 33:04.2.
