Magi tennis falls 6-3 against Bismarck Legacy

The Minot High School boys tennis team dropped a 6-3 match to Bismarck Legacy on Thursday afternoon at Hammond Park. With the loss, Minot moved to 5-7 (2-1 WDA).

Jack Wolsky earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 singles spot, while Cole Murray posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 6 singles.

“Jack has really started to play some good tennis for us the last couple of weeks,” Minot High head coach Scott DeLorme said. “We’ll continue to look at him going forward to have success for us.”

Ridge Jaeger and Hunter Rice earned Minot’s lone doubles win, taking a 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 victory.

“Legacy is experienced,” DeLorme said. “I believe that showed today in the multiple close matches that went against us. We did have a good week of practice,and I think we saw some positives from that.”

The Magi will have a quick turnaround, as they will face Mandan at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Hammond Park.
