Late goals aid Minotauros in 4-3 win

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — When the Minot Minotauros needed to perform in the clutch, their players answered the bell. Minot captured its fourth straight win on Saturday night, leaving St. Cloud with a 4-3 win over the Blizzard.

Kevin Ness scored the first goal for the Minotauros, striking in the fourth minute of the contest. St. Cloud’s Brady Bjork countered with a goal in the eighth minute.

With the score tied at 1-1, Wyatt Thole put the Blizzard ahead. Minot tied the score off a goal from Andranik Armstrong-Kingkade.

Armstrong-Kingkade’s goal knotted the game at 2-2, and that score held going into the third period.

It didn’t even take a minute for Minot’s Kyler Kleven to strike in the third period. Kleven’s goal gave the Minotauros a 3-2 lead.

Armstrong-Kingkade added a late insurance goal, but St. Cloud’s Bud Winter responded with a goal of his own.

Winter’s goal proved to be too little, too late for the Blizzard. Minot nabbed the tight 4-3 road victory.

The Minotauros will travel to Minnesota once again, as they will face the Minnesota Wilderness for a 7:05 p.m. contest on Friday, Oct. 4.
