Majettes basketball nabs road win at TMCHS

BELCOURT — The Minot High School girls basketball team picked up its third road victory of the season on Tuesday with a 66-47 win over Turtle Mountain Community High School.

The 66 points scored marked a season-high for the Majettes (3-4, 3-4 WDA). Allie Nelson and Paige Rosencrans carried the bulk of the scoring load with 19 and 18 points, respectively. Also chipping in for MHS was Lauren McLean (9 points), Sophie Wedar (8), Tia Haskins (6), Becca Tschetter (4) and Landry Maragos (2).

The Majettes made all five of their 3-pointers in the first half — two from Rosencrans and Wedar, plus one from Tschetter. Minot led 35-19 at halftime.

TMCHS (1-8, 0-8 WDA) had nine players put up points with its leading scorer being Falynn Ferris with 11 points.

Minot High goes for its first home win in attempt No. 3 on Thursday against Williston. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. at the Magic City Campus.
