MSU women’s basketball lands Division II transfer

The Minot State women’s basketball team announced the addition of a transfer from Regis University, head coach Mark Graupe announced on Monday.

Caitlin Deaton of Wausau, Wisconsin is a 5′ 11″ guard transferring to Minot State after playing one season at Regis University.

Deaton was a two-time first team all-conference selection in basketball, two-time state champion and 4×400 state champion in track at Wausau West High School.

“Caitlin was very highly recruited out of high school while attracting strong interest from NSIC teams and many other DI and DII schools,” said Graupe. “Caitlin handles the ball very well for a 5′ 11” player and is also a great three-point shooter. We are very excited that she has decided to continue her career at Minot State.”

Deaton averaged 14 points per game her senior year and 17 points per game as a junior in high school.
