MSU track and field concludes week at Ron Masanz Classic

MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minot State men’s and women’s track & field teams finished their busy week at the Ron Masanz Classic hosted by Minnesota State Moorhead on Saturday in Moorhead, Minn.

Amber Hunsaker led Minot State with a pair of top finishes. Hunsaker won the javelin with a throw of 131′ 6” and placed sixth in the shot put with a distance of 39′ 10 ¢”.

Amanda Mohr recorded a fourth-place finish in the 100m dash with a time of 13.14 seconds while Shae Pedersen clocked a 26.6 second finish in the 200m to place eighth.

The Beavers recorded a pair of top finishers in the women’s 5K. Ashley Franco placed sixth, covering the track in 19:15.91 while Patience Albertson followed with a time of 19:25.85 to finish eighth.

Minot State placed two athletes in the top-eight of the men’s javelin. Jacob Hatfield notched a toss of 171′ 10” to place fifth while Ben Aasen recorded a distance of 164′ 9″ to finish seventh in the javelin.

The Beavers return to action at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday-Saturday, May 10-11 in Winona, Minn.
