MSU drops heartbreaker to Emporia State
For most of the night Friday, the Minot State women’s soccer team’s defense was stout against Emporia State.
Yet, Emporia State found a way to score the lone goal of the night in a 1-0 overtime victory at Herb Parker Stadium.
The goal came at the 93:35 mark, as Emporia State’s Kennedy Hoffman connected on a shot that went inside the right post. Maria Walden picked up the assist on the play.
MSU (1-2) outshot Emporia State (2-1) 18-11 and had seven shots on goal to their five, but couldn’t find a way to get a goal into the net.
The Beavers are back in action at 2 p.m. Sunday against No. 17 Fort Hays State University at Herb Parker Stadium.
