Several strong performances highlight Sunday’s races at Nodak Speedway

A month into the racing season at Nodak Speedway, some racers are starting to create separation in the points standings of their respective race classes.

On Sunday in the B Modifieds, Minot’s Jeff Hooker emerged victorious after starting in the fourth spot. It was his third podium finish in as many weeks, finishing first, second, first in the last three Nodak races. Brock Beeter (Minot) took second and Robby Rosselli (Minot) finished third. Jon Lizotte (Grand Forks) found himself in fourth place, while Erik Laudenschlager (Minot) sat in fifth at the race’s conclusion.

In the hobby stocks, Minot’s Kevin Tvedt picked up his second victory of the season. Andrew Bertsch (Minot) took second, while Zach Lutz (Burlington) finished third. To round out the race, Dana Brandt (Minot) and Adam Goff (Palermo) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Meanwhile, Minot’s Justin Striefel earned his first victory of the year in the stock car class, as Ross Cummings (Minot) and Scott Yale (Minot) rounded out the podium. Mike Swallers (Minot) and Chris Ellis (Stanley) finished in fifth place in the race.

Travis Hagen (Williston) picked up his fourth victory of the year in the A Modifieds division. Ray’s Jason Wolla, who also has four wins this season, took second. Robert Hellebust (Minot) and Spencer Wilson (Minot) took third and fourth, respectively.
