Police reported receiving a call at 2:12 p.m. of an intoxicated driver at the intersection of North Broadway and 20th Avenue Northwest. The vehicle traveled north to the intersection with 27th Avenue Northwest and attempted to make a left turn across the southbound traffic lanes onto 27th Avenue. A southbound vehicle driven by Shawn Larson, 23, of Minot, struck the turning vehicle, which was then pushed into a vehicle driven by Carla Kruger, 31, Minot, who was stopped at a stop sign on 27th Avenue. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital as a precaution.
The vehicle then fled the scene northbound in the southbound lanes of traffic before turning west onto 30th Avenue Northwest, nearly striking several vehicles before becoming disabled in the 600 block of 30th Avenue Northwest. The driver fled on foot into the nearby Northland Mobile Home Park, where he was apprehended by officers.
