BISMARCK (AP) - Bismarck residents are set to begin participating in the city's new single-sort curbside recycling program.
Pickup is scheduled to begin Monday and will continue every two weeks thereafter.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that slightly more than 12,100 residents have agreed to participate in the program.
Participants won't have to sort their recyclables. Instead, they can throw them all in the 96-gallon green carts with yellow lids that the city has delivered to their homes.
Residents will be charged $3.81 per month for the service.
Bismarck residents previously could drop off recyclables at 18 city locations. Now, there will be only nine. Drop site locations can be found online at www.bismarck.org/recycling .
