ENROLLMENT ON THE RISE Minot State University's enrollment is on the upswing for the fall semester, with about a 3 percent increase over 2012. That's good news, obviously, as the university continues to recover the student losses brought about from the 2011 Souris River flood. Of those students, some 742 will live in student housing, up from 2012's 676 students in campus housing. Modular units on campus are again being used, and some students could be housed in area hotels as overflow housing. A growing student population is a good sign that the university is getting back to the business at hand namely educating students instead of worrying about the immediate ramifications of a flood. We're happy to see students again realizing that Minot State University has much to offer them as they continue their education.
