ROLLA - The Minot High School girls golf team shot a 423 and placed sixth in the eight-team Turtle Mountain Invitational at Rolla Country Club on Monday.
Junior McKinley Bender carded a team-best 102 for the Majettes, the 13th-best individual round at the 5,310-yard golf course. Freshman Paige Argent was right behind Bender with a 103.
"Rolla's tough because it's long and you're hitting to elevated greens or from elevated tee boxes and the forest is always in play," MHS coach Scott Foltz said. "You don't have a lot of room to make mistakes. We handled it about as well as we could right now."
Bismarck Century won the tournament with a 378, one shot better than Dickinson.
Jamestown's Sierra Bennion earned medalist honors, carding an 81 at the par-74 course.
The Majettes host the Minot Invite Tuesday at Roughrider Golf Course.
