The Badlands Bass Bandits have reached the halfway mark of their 2013 season with the outcome for Angler of the Year still very much in doubt.
Matt Sullivan of Bismarck leads the standings with 58 points. Chase Fernandez is second with 52 and Marty Mantz, Center, third with 48 points. Sullivan captured first place during Day 1 of a two-day event held June 29-30 at Lake Sakakawea State Park. He followed that finish up with a second-place showing on day two.
Mantz was fourth on Day 1 and first on Day 2, an effort that keeps the defending circuit champion within striking distance of the lead with six dates remaining prior to the two-day Classic Championship. The championship is to be held on Lake Sakakawea Sept. 28-29.
The next tournament on the Bass Bandits schedule is July 20-21 at New Johns Lake. It is a two-day event scored as a single tournament.
