Mitch Lunde will officially take over for longtime Minot Public Schools Activities Director Pat McNally on July 1.
The 45-year-old Lunde spent nine years as Beulah Elementary School principal and activities director for Beulah Public Schools.
"Minot's always been a top-notch school," Lunde said Tuesday while taking in a Minot Vistas game at Corbett Field.
"It's always had top-notch athletics and activities. It's an opportunity where you're gonna be activities director at one of the biggest schools and one of the best schools. That's something that really interested me."
Rather than juggling duties as a principal and AD, Lunde will be able to focus solely on activities in Minot.
"My goal is to provide opportunities for all our student-athletes and all our kids that are involved in activities," said Lunde, a graduate of Mohall High School and Minot State University. "I want to be there for the coaches and the advisers and assist them in any way that they need, and make it so the parents and patrons of the Minot Public Schools are proud and continue to be proud of what goes on at the Minot Public Schools."
Lunde said he also plans to improve online scheduling so parents, fans and media members can stay informed.
