FARGO (AP) - A geocache game in eastern North Dakota's Cass County over the weekend led to a bomb scare.
Geocaching is a treasure-hunting game in which players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using a smartphone or a GPS.
The Forum newspaper reports that authorities on Saturday received a report of a suspicious object on a bike path, and they called in the Red River Valley Bomb Squad. Investigators eventually determined the object was part of a geocache game.
The sheriff's office says people who take part in geocaching should use common sense when choosing what types of containers to use and where to place them.
